The University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s student-run theater company, Theatrix, is focusing on the concept of “symbiosis” for their 2026-27 season. This theme explores how people can be interconnected, sometimes through codependency. Theatrix aims to provide inclusive opportunities for all students to participate in theater, regardless of their major.
This season features three plays:
-
“P!T” by Daniel Prillaman (Dec. 3-6) – Follows characters Hat, Glasses, and Third Wheel who find themselves stuck in a pit, examining themes of dependence and relationships.
-
“Gruesome Playground Injuries” by Rajiv Joseph (March 4-7, 2027) – A series of vignettes showcasing the lives of two characters over decades, exploring their emotional and physical bond through various injuries.
-
“Endgame” by Samuel Beckett (April 1-4, 2027) – A post-apocalyptic play that grapples with caregiving, codependency, and the complexities of relationships in dire circumstances.
Each production reflects the theme of “symbiosis,” highlighting the intertwined nature of human relationships. Theatrix continues to be a vital platform for students to engage in the performing arts at the university.
