The documentary “You Can See Everything,” directed by Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim, premiered on Wednesday at the New York Film Festival, following its surprise debut at the Telluride Film Festival. The nearly three-hour film captures Elizabeth Holmes, founder of Theranos, in the 34 days leading up to her prison sentence.
Filmed secretly over three years, the documentary defies conventional storytelling and offers an intimate look at Holmes and her partner, Billy Evans. Fielder, known for his absurdist style, expresses the cognitive dissonance felt while documenting Holmes, describing her as both genuine and deceptive.
The film explores themes of identity, truth, and performance, as it chronicles the rise and fall of Theranos, a company once valued at $4.5 billion. Its compelling twists and dramatic recreations have already created significant buzz, and it will be released by A24 on October 16.
