Fortnitemares has kicked off in Fortnite, bringing with it spooky collaborations and horror-themed content. Among the highlights is the chance to earn Jimothy the Raccoon, a viral sensation from earlier this year, who has now made his way into the game as a free sidekick!
How to Get Your Free Jimothy Sidekick
To earn the Jimothy Sidekick, players must successfully extract the new Dumpster Diver Sprite, introduced in the latest update. This Sprite, resembling a raccoon, offers health restoration when you hide in specific spots.

Extracting the Sprite: This requires locating extraction points on the map, which may need defending against enemies. Alternatively, you can use a Portable Extractor for faster completion.

Claiming the Reward: After successfully extracting the Sprite, the Jimothy Sidekick will be available for you when you return to the lobby. Players can also unlock an additional Emote for the sidekick later.
Expiration of the Jimothy Sidekick
Although Epic Games hasn’t confirmed an exact expiration date, it’s expected that the Jimothy Sidekick will be available until the end of the season, aligned with the conclusion of Fortnitemares, which is set for November 1. After this date, a new mini-season will commence, introducing fresh Sprites while retiring the current ones, including the Dumpster Diver Sprite.
