Exciting Updates Announced for Fallout 76
In a special presentation today, Fallout 76 has revealed upcoming updates featuring World Pets and Hideouts.
Spooky Season Begins
Fallout 3 fans can look forward to the return of The Slasher (aka The Pint-Sized Slasher), coinciding with the spooky season. A new event has players investigating a copycat of this notorious urban legend. Bethesda also shared a glimpse of future seasons, with World Pets allowing players to explore the wasteland with customizable pets, while Hideouts introduces new bounty hunting challenges.
Fallout 76: World Pets – Adventuring with Companions
World Pets enhances players’ experiences by allowing them to take their furry friends—ranging from dogs and cats to Radhogs and even Deathclaws—on adventures. This free update enables pets to level up, assist in combat, and find useful items.
Key Features:
- Pip-Boy Integration: Handle and heal pets directly from a new section on your Pip-Boy.
- Command Wheel: Give pets commands such as Stay, Follow, Attack, and Defend.
- Leveling System: Pets level up based on their species rather than individually.
- Cosmetic Armor Only: Armor for pets does not affect their statistics.
Unique Passive Abilities:
- Dogs: Find Stimpaks and extra Legendaries.
- Cats: Discover Improved Baits and extra Fish Bits.
- Radhogs: Locate Toxic-Goo and High-Radiation Fluids.
- Deathclaws: Unearth Black Titanium and more Legendaries.
Introducing Fallout 76: Hideouts
The next major update, Hideouts, will expand the bounty hunting system by adding new interior locations and tougher enemies. Players can team up to conquer these Hideouts and defeat formidable bosses. A new threat, The Drifter, will challenge players on harder difficulties.
Getting Started with Hideouts:
- Players collect Hideout Leads from map exploration and events for opportunities to encounter Hideouts.
- Marked Hideouts guarantee a challenging showdown with The Drifter.
Hideouts is set to release in Spring 2027.
Future Expansion: Raven Rock
Additionally, Fallout 76 will return players to the Capital Wasteland with the Raven Rock expansion, allowing exploration of this iconic location before the events of Fallout 3.
