Complimentary Hispanic Heritage Event Showcasing Culture in Downtown Arlington | City

Arlington’s Fifth Annual Heritage Celebration

Arlington residents are invited to celebrate Hispanic culture at the fifth annual Heritage Celebration on Saturday at 4 p.m. at Levitt Pavilion. The event promises an array of activities including live music, dancing, food, and local vendors.

Event Highlights:

  • Vendors: Over 60 food, retail, cultural, and nonprofit vendors will be present.
  • Performances: Local musicians and dancers will showcase diverse cultural acts, including a performance by Grupo de Danza Azteca San Jose and Sam Houston High School’s mariachi group.

Karina Nuñez, a member of the Arlington Latino Advisory Council, emphasizes the importance of such events in celebrating Hispanic heritage. “I think it is very important as Hispanics to celebrate, especially in times like this,” she remarked, urging attendees to take pride in their roots.

Last year, the celebration attracted about 6,000 attendees, and the organizers hope to see around 8,000 this year. Nuñez highlighted that prior to this event, residents often had to travel to Fort Worth or Dallas for significant Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations.

The festivities will take place rain or shine, and updates will be shared via social media if any changes occur due to weather. Admission is free, and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Furthermore, pets are welcome!

“Bring your friends, bring your family, bring your chair, bring your umbrella,” Nuñez added. “We just want everybody to know that everyone’s welcome, and it’s a big fiesta. We’re ready to party, and we want to share and celebrate with the community!”
