A federal judge has lifted some travel restrictions for Igor Lytvynchuk, the Washington man accused of throwing a rock at a Hawaiian monk seal. Caught on camera during the incident, Lytvynchuk made headlines in May and later pleaded not guilty to two misdemeanor charges. Under the new court order, he can now travel throughout Washington instead of being restricted to the Western District. However, his travel remains limited to Washington and Oahu, with trips to Oahu requiring prior approval for court-related purposes. The order was issued by U.S. Magistrate Judge Rom A. Trader on September 25, and Lytvynchuk’s trial is set for November 26 in Honolulu federal court.
