Caterpillar Inc. is planning to invest approximately $1 billion in expanding its manufacturing capabilities in Sanford, North Carolina. This expansion includes the construction of a new facility aimed at increasing the production of compact track loaders and telehandlers.
Rod Shurman, president of Caterpillar’s construction industries group, emphasized that this investment is driven by the growing demand for compact equipment, aiming to enhance customer service and efficiency.
North Carolina was chosen for the expansion due to the company’s established presence, the strength of the local workforce, and existing manufacturing expertise in Sanford.
