Washington Capitals Promote Dog Adoption at Red Carpet Event
ARLINGTON, Va. (7News) — Who doesn’t love a four-legged furry friend?
The Washington Capitals held an event showcasing dogs available for adoption through Wolf Trap Animal Rescue. Players dressed in their best suits for the “Red Carpet” theme.
The team’s partnership with Wolf Trap Animal Rescue began with volunteer efforts and has expanded to include various events aimed at encouraging pet adoption. Dr. Amber Burton, Director and Founder of Wolf Trap, shared, “The partnership’s been amazing for us. It’s great any time we get the opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of rescuing these puppies.”
Several players brought their own dogs, such as Jakob Chychrun with Bruce and Anthony Beauvillier with Bean. Alex Ovechkin emphasized the significance of the bond between dogs and their owners, stating, “If you have a dog, you have a best friend out there.”
Beauvillier added, “Whenever you have a chance to pet puppies and dogs, it’s always a good day and for a good cause.”
The Capitals are set to release a canine calendar later this fall.
