A man named James Louie Conard, 49, has been charged with eight counts of animal ill treatment after eight dogs, including four puppies, were seized from his home in Belton, S.C. The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office began investigating in September due to complaints about the dogs’ living conditions. Initial findings revealed the dogs were malnourished, dehydrated, and lacking proper veterinary care.
Authorities issued a notice for Conard to rectify the situation, but after he failed to comply, a search warrant was obtained to seize the animals. They have since been taken to Anderson County PAWS for medical evaluation and will be available for adoption after assessments are completed. Conard was arrested but later released on bond.
