Ken San Jose Set for Broadway Debut in “Evita” Revival

Filipino American performer Ken San Jose is set to make his Broadway debut in the 2027 revival of Evita, joining the ensemble directed by Jamie Lloyd, with Rachel Zegler starring as Eva Perón. Previews will begin on February 27 at the Winter Garden Theatre in New York, culminating in opening night on March 25. According to the Internet Broadway Database (IBDB), this marks San Jose’s first Broadway engagement.

San Jose features alongside principal cast members including Diego Rodriguez as Che, James Olivas as Juan Perón, Bella Brown in dual roles as The Mistress and alternate Eva Perón, and Ángel Lozada as Agustín Magaldi.

Earlier this year, San Jose returned to the Manila theater scene as Mark Anthony in A Chorus Line at the Samsung Performing Arts Theater in Makati. He gained notable fame in the Philippines during the first season of World of Dance Philippines in 2019, where he secured second runner-up in the Junior Division.

Rachel Zegler reprises her role from the 2025 West End production of Evita, for which she received the 2026 Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical. The musical, first debuted on Broadway in 1979, chronicles Eva Perón’s rise to Argentina’s first lady.
