Jay-Z’s Accuser Withdraws Allegations, States Rapper ‘Never Assaulted Me’ | Entertainment

A woman who previously accused Jay-Z of sexual assault is recanting her claims, stating in a declaration to a New York federal court that all allegations against him are false. The Jane Doe, who filed a lawsuit in October 2024 and later amended it to include Jay-Z, now says she has never met the rapper, did not receive any compensation, and acknowledges the harm her accusations caused him.

Her new lawyer, James Blair Newman Jr., explained that while she believes she was a victim of sexual assault, she mistakenly identified Jay-Z as the perpetrator. He emphasized that there was no inappropriate conduct by Jay-Z.

At the same time, Jay-Z announced he was dismissing the woman as a defendant in his countersuit against her and her former attorney, Tony Buzbee, for malicious prosecution. Jay-Z had accused Buzbee of extortion following the initial allegations. The case has since been complicated, with Buzbee disputing claims of extortion and asserting that standard legal demands were made.

This development follows the woman’s initial claims that both Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs drugged and raped her at a party when she was 13. Jay-Z has consistently denied the accusations, calling them a blackmail attempt. After the lawsuit was dropped “with prejudice,” it cannot be refiled in the future.
