Carrot Top discharged from hospital following suicide attempt

Carrot Top, whose real name is Scott Thompson, has been released from the hospital and is now recovering at home with his family following a suicide attempt last week. The 61-year-old comedian spent several days in critical condition after being found unconscious at his Las Vegas home on September 18.

After a welfare check prompted by his manager, Thompson was rushed to the hospital, where he was under medical care for nearly a week. He has since been reported to be “doing well” and has shown signs of improvement. His representative shared that he was awake, breathing on his own, and even sharing moments of humor with hospital staff.

The incident came amid a legal dispute with musician Brian Evans, who Thompson claims threatened to publicly release an explicit video unless he received a payment of $500,000. Evans has denied these allegations.

Thompson’s long-running residency at the Luxor Hotel and Casino has been on hiatus since his hospitalization, and it’s unclear when he will return to performing. His family appreciates the support from fans during this difficult time and has requested privacy as he recovers.

If you or someone you know is struggling, it’s important to reach out for help. You can call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255) or text the Crisis Text Line at 741741.
