ADOT is actively enhancing the Phoenix area’s transportation infrastructure by planning and constructing new freeways, additional lanes, and other improvements as outlined in the Regional Transportation Plan for Maricopa County. The majority of these projects are funded through Proposition 400, a sales tax approved by county voters in 2004, with an extension approved in November 2024 through Proposition 479.
