Valve unexpectedly released chicken pets in CS2.

The latest update to Counter-Strike 2, known as the Rush Hour update, has introduced some exciting features, but the biggest buzz is all about pet chickens. While chickens have been a staple in the game for some time, you can now hatch an untradeable egg from your weekly drop that will turn into a chick after a week.

Players can nurture their chickens, feeding them special chicken feed to help them grow into various skins, each with different rarity levels. Some of these whimsical chicken designs include bright colors like blue, purple-yellow, and even toxic green.

As the chickens grow, they can learn tricks, such as running in circles and flapping their wings. You can also name your chick and take it into lobbies, although it will eventually leave you once it matures. What’s surprising is that such a lighthearted feature was not even mentioned in the patch notes, showcasing Valve’s quirky sense of humor while the community awaits meaningful updates on gameplay issues like anti-cheat measures.
