Exciting News: A Glee Reboot is in the Works!
Ryan Murphy recently announced that a reboot of the beloved musical series Glee is officially in progress. In an update shared with Entertainment Tonight, Murphy revealed that he has completed the script for the revival.
“Well, funny you ask, because I just finished the script an hour ago,” Murphy said. “We have a script. Brad [Falchuk], Ian [Brennan] and I, who wrote all the first two seasons, have written something.”
Murphy also mentioned that he has been in contact with around ten original cast members, receiving enthusiastic responses from them.
“They’ve all had a lot of questions, but they all were very enthusiastic about the idea,” he expressed.
He confessed that while none of the original cast members have read the script yet, he plans to share it soon to gauge their thoughts, emphasizing the close relationships that developed during the original series.
Glee originally aired on Fox from 2009 to 2015, featuring a diverse high school glee club and a star-studded cast including Lea Michele, the late Cory Monteith, Amber Riley, Chris Colfer, and Jane Lynch, among others.
In the meantime, Murphy’s other hit show, American Horror Story, has just debuted its 13th season.
