PlayStation may rethink its shift away from physical games following a reported survey of developers.

Sony has faced backlash from fans following its announcement to phase out physical game formats for PlayStation. According to recent reports, the company may reconsider this decision based on feedback from a survey sent to game developers.

Tom from the “Moore’s Law is Dead” YouTube channel mentioned that the survey is notably extensive, probing developers about the sales of physical games and indirectly questioning the viability of discontinuing physical disc sales. Despite some titles like Wolverine still selling strongly in physical formats, there appears to be an acknowledgment from Sony regarding potential discontent from both developers and fans.

A month after gamescom, where reports indicated displeasure among developers regarding this decision, Sony is now gathering insights that could lead to a reversal of its stance. For now, any changes remain uncertain, and stakeholders are advised to remain cautious about the situation’s developments.
