Taanusiya Chetty, who was crowned Miss World Asia and was the second runner-up in Miss World 2026, expressed her interest in joining the entertainment industry. She stated that she would be thrilled to showcase her talents if given the opportunity. At 26, Chetty shared that she had previously declined a role due to her commitments with the pageant organization but is open to acting in local dramas and appearing in music videos in the future.
After returning from Vietnam, where she spent six weeks competing in the Miss World pageant, Taanusiya acknowledged social media comments comparing her appearance to that of model-actress Sharifah Haneesya, noting that she appreciates the comparison as a compliment. She made history by being the first Malaysian in 28 years to secure a second runner-up position at the Miss World pageant.
