Microchip Technology Introduces 65V Energy-Efficient Digital Power Monitors for 48V Power Systems

Microchip Technology has announced the launch of the PAC1761 and PAC1861 families of 65V energy-aware digital power monitors, designed to enhance the efficiency and resilience of 48V power architectures across various markets. These devices offer critical features, including high-voltage measurement and transient spike protection, making them suitable for applications in automotive, AI/data centers, and other industrial settings.

The PAC1761 and PAC1861 monitors provide real-time insights into energy usage dynamics, driven by accumulated power measurement data. This shift towards understanding energy behavior over time allows customers to optimize system performance and reliability. Key functionalities include programmable alerts for power conditions, step-limit detection for sudden load changes, and configuration options for accumulated-energy thresholds to facilitate proactive management.

Both monitor families are available in multiple package sizes, including automotive-orderable variants, and can support a range of design requirements. Development tools such as evaluation boards and software libraries are provided to support integration and application development.

Microchip’s new products are available now, with pricing starting at $0.56 each for specific models. For more details, customers can purchase directly from Microchip or through authorized distributors.
