Tampa Company Allocates Funds for $300 Million Student Housing Portfolio

Tampa-based Society Hill Capital and Liberty Group, led by Punit Shah, are investing over $300 million in three student housing projects near major universities in Florida and Tennessee. This collaboration follows Liberty’s previous success with a fully leased student community near Florida State University, demonstrating confidence in Society Hill’s approach.

The planned developments include:

  • Chapter House at FSU: 129 units, 511 beds, set for 2027.
  • Chapter House at UF: 219 units, 684 beds, scheduled for 2029.
  • Nine at UT Knoxville: 116 units, 486 beds, also slated for 2029.

Liberty is providing co-GP equity to enhance investor participation, while Society Hill focuses on purpose-built student housing near leading universities. Both companies emphasize long-term relationships and the potential for growth in these markets.
