The 48th annual Nanticoke Indian Powwow took place at Hudson Fields near Milton on September 12, 2026. This event celebrated Indigenous heritage and traditions, showcasing Native American art, crafts, food, music, and dance.

Visitors browsed vendor booths that featured handcrafted items, while a wildlife demonstration highlighted the significance of local fauna. Participants engaged in various ceremonial activities, including a blessing of the grounds before dancing commenced, showcasing vibrant regalia and performances.

Special moments at the powwow included tributes to the victims of the September 11 attacks and honors for military veterans through dedicated dances. The event also included educational displays on Nanticoke history.

The powwow serves as a communal gathering for Native American dancers, drum groups, artists, and visitors, fostering cultural appreciation and awareness. Additional highlights can be viewed in video form through links associated with the event’s coverage.
