The Rainbow Bridge Pet Memorial was unveiled at the Alliance for the Arts in Fort Myers, providing a special place for pet owners to honor and remember their beloved animals. The initiative, envisioned by Gabrielle Bolen, took 18 months to realize and features a colorful bridge adorned with rainbows.
Community members attended the unveiling with collars from their late pets, contributing to a collective sense of remembrance. Notable local businesses supported the project, showcasing strong community collaboration.
Bolen expressed her gratitude for the support received, highlighting the significance of creating a space for grieving pet owners. The memorial invites visitors to hang collars or tags along its wire rails, fostering a strong connection to the memories of their furry companions.
Inspired by the heartfelt poem “Rainbow Bridge,” the site encourages quiet reflection and serves as a lasting tribute to pets who have touched the hearts of those they left behind. The memorial is now open for pet lovers to visit and remember their cherished pets.
