James Acastar expresses worry about the ‘contaminated’ role in Celebrity Traitors

Celebrity Traitors Season 2: Comedians Face Tough Challenge

The second season of Celebrity Traitors is set to premiere, and contestants, particularly comedians, find themselves in a tricky position following the success of the first season. Comedian James Acaster, who will join fellow comics including Joanne McNally, Rob Beckett, Romesh Ranganathan, Joe Lycett, and Miranda Hart, expressed concerns that the prior win by Alan Carr has made it harder for comedians to be seen as trustworthy.

Before filming, Acaster pointed out, “I think we’re going to be the first ones under the magnifying glass… [there will be] suspicions that it’s going to be at least one of these guys.” He also noted that Carr’s humor, which had previously disarmed contestants, has now “tainted” the perception of comedians in the series. Despite Carr seeming unpredictable as a Traitor, he ultimately prevailed by surprising fellow contestant Nick Mohammed in the finale.

Acaster voiced particular concern over Professor Hannah Fry, citing her background in mathematics which may give her an analytical edge. The new season is packed with diverse participants, including actors Bella Ramsey, Michael Sheen, and Richard E Grant, along with musicians like Leigh-Anne Pinnock and James Blunt.

The second season, hosted by Claudia Winkleman, kicks off on Thursday, October 1, airing two nights a week. With a fresh batch of contestants, fans can expect another thrilling experience of deception and strategy.
