HiTHIUM Unveils the ∞Power N4.0MWh Sodium-Ion Battery Energy Storage System
XIAMEN, China, Sept. 22, 2026 – At its recent launch event themed “Powered Day in, Day out,” HiTHIUM introduced the ∞Power N4.0MWh, a robust 4 MWh sodium-ion battery energy storage system featuring the innovative ∞Cell N785Ah. The system promises a service life of 30 years, with full-scale production and delivery set to begin in 2027.
The ∞Cell N785Ah was developed using advanced materials and manufacturing processes, incorporating a polyanionic chemistry based on an NFPP cathode and hard-carbon anode, alongside customized electrolyte solutions and ultra-thick electrodes. This design facilitates compatibility with HiTHIUM’s existing lithium-ion battery production lines, allowing for scalability. Specifically, the cell is engineered for 20,000 cycles at 70% state of health, supporting storage durations ranging from two to eight hours.
Key features at the system level include a stacked-cell architecture that reduces the station footprint by 30% and a power conversion system (PCS) with over 20% greater rated-power utilization than previous sodium-ion models. The ∞Power N4.0MWh achieves a comprehensive 24-hour efficiency exceeding 88%, with significant reductions in operating and standby auxiliary power consumption—30% and 50%, respectively.
Dr. Aileen Wang, Director of HiTHIUM’s Battery Research Institute, emphasized the commitment to a long-term operational life with the statement, “30 years means 10,950 days of validation—a long-term commitment to our customers.”
Dr. Nazar Yi, Chief Technology Officer of HiTHIUM, highlighted the goals of affordability and long-term resource availability as critical for large-scale deployment of sodium-ion technology. The company envisions a future where electrochemical storage systems become integral, long-lasting energy infrastructure with targeted storage costs approaching RMB 0.1 per kWh.
HiTHIUM sees sodium-ion batteries as complementary to lithium-ion technology, with plans to initially focus on utility-scale applications before branching into commercial, industrial, and residential markets. The company has also initiated the ∞Edge Pioneer Program to test its systems under extreme conditions and share progress over the next three years.
