Jason Priestley, known for his acting career and endeavors in professional racing, recently discussed a life-threatening crash from 2002 on the Inside of You podcast. During a practice session at the Kentucky Speedway, Priestley’s open-wheel race car hit the wall at nearly 180 mph after losing traction on a cleanup compound.
The crash resulted in severe injuries, including a concussion, a broken back, a fractured skull, and significant blood loss—he was reportedly flatlined during transport to the hospital and had to be resuscitated multiple times. Despite these harrowing experiences, Priestley stated that he has no lasting effects from the incident, and his recovery did not lead to any ongoing health issues.
His father documented the recovery process through photos, and nearly 24 years later, Priestley reflects positively on his condition, noting that he feels well and has no lingering pain from his injuries.
