Mary Ann Halpin, a portrait photographer from Coachella Valley, is hosting a holiday pet portrait event from November 1 to November 8, benefiting the Palm Springs Animal Shelter. During these sessions, pet owners can book appointments for professional portraits with their dogs, cats, or other pets, and even include the whole family in the photos.
For every session, $50 will be donated to the shelter. Additionally, participants are encouraged to bring items like dog food, cat food, blankets, and towels as donations.
Halpin’s experience with animal trainers aids her in working with pets, especially shelter animals. She emphasizes the importance of allowing pets to approach her rather than immediately reaching for them, which helps create a relaxed environment.
The event, titled “I Fearlessly Love You, Fido and Fifi,” will feature festive accessories for seasonal portraits. Appointments can be booked via a QR code.
Halpin also shared her thoughts on the role of AI in photography. While she utilizes it for tasks like design and contracts, she remains cautious about using it for portrait creation, valuing the connection between the photographer and subjects for meaningful portraits.
