Kailash Kher Discusses Artistic Freedom: The Importance of Sensitivity, Decency, and Culture | MorungExpress

Kailash Kher on Creative Freedom and Sensitivity in Art

Acclaimed singer Kailash Kher recently shared his views on the balance between creative freedom and sensitivity in the arts during a conversation with IANS. He emphasized that true artistry involves sensitivity and the ability to convey emotions that resonate with people’s experiences.

Kher believes that artists should aim to uplift audiences and foster positivity through their work while being attuned to societal issues. He stated, “An artist is someone who is sensitive. If someone claims to be an artist without this sensitivity, they are not truly an artist.”

He argues that the stage serves as a platform to win hearts, where the pure intentions of an artist are paramount. Kher highlighted the significance of purity, civility, and culture in an artist’s expression, suggesting that these virtues are essential for meaningful artistic contributions.

Kher first gained prominence with the song “Allah Ke Bande” from the film Waisa Bhi Hota Hai Part II in 2003 and has since produced numerous revered tracks, including “Teri Deewani” and “Saiyyan.” He has also lent his voice to several acclaimed films, making significant contributions to the Indian music industry.
