Hannah Waddingham and Octavia Spencer’s ‘Ride or Die’ Gets Axed by Prime Video After Its First Season

The adventure comedy series “Ride or Die,” starring Hannah Waddingham and Octavia Spencer, has been canceled by Prime Video after one season. The show premiered its eight episodes just over two months ago, receiving positive reviews and gaining popularity. Initially developed by Skydance Television, it later moved to Paramount Television, with various production companies involved.

Despite its initial success, a recent report indicated that Paramount Television might be exploring opportunities for a second season elsewhere. The series, created by Tessa Coates, followed best friends on a trip that complicates when one reveals her secret job as a high-class assassin. Alongside Waddingham and Spencer, the cast included Ed Skrein, Calam Lynch, and Bill Nighy.

The cancellation occurs amidst significant changes within Amazon MGM Studios, including restructuring leadership roles in its television department.
