The Alliance for the Arts invites the community to the grand opening of the Rainbow Bridge Pet Memorial on Saturday, September 19, at 10:30 a.m. This special ceremony will take place during the Alliance’s Morning Market and Family Fun Day, offering free community activities and an artisan market.
The memorial, inspired by the Rainbow Bridge poem, serves as a peaceful space for pet lovers to reflect and honor their beloved pets. Visitors are encouraged to leave collars in remembrance, contributing to an evolving tribute to the bonds shared with their animals.
Gabrielle Bolen, a longtime dog lover, spearheaded the project, rallying community support and resources to bring her vision to life. “This bridge truly was built by a community who understands how deeply our pets become part of our families,” Bolen expressed.
The memorial features a symbolic structure surrounded by landscaping and seating, intended for reflection and remembrance. It’s designed to accommodate different meanings for each visitor, whether remembering a recent loss or celebrating long-cherished memories.
Local businesses and supporters have generously contributed to the project, ensuring each donor is recognized at the memorial site. The Rainbow Bridge Pet Memorial aligns with the Alliance’s ArtsPark initiative, which aims to create immersive arts and nature experiences.
