New Pet Memorial Unveiled in Fort Myers
FORT MYERS, Fla. — A new memorial honoring beloved pets will be unveiled during Family Fun Day at the Alliance for the Arts on Saturday.
The Rainbow Bridge Pet Memorial, created by local resident Gabrielle Bolen, offers a serene space for pet lovers to reflect and remember their cherished companions. Inspired by the beloved Rainbow Bridge poem, the memorial invites visitors to leave collars or tags in tribute, symbolizing the lasting bond between humans and animals.
The project came to fruition through a community effort, with local businesses and individuals donating materials and labor to bring Bolen’s vision to life.
The grand opening ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. on September 19, as part of Family Fun Day. This free event is open to the public and aims to provide comfort and connection for those remembering their pets.
The memorial is located at the Alliance for the Arts, 10091 McGregor Blvd, Fort Myers. It serves as a place to honor both recently lost pets and those who have been gone for years, celebrating a love that never fades.
