Madeleine Dee Launches “Sharing Scores” Podcast to Celebrate Women in Gaming
Video games have long been a universal playground, yet cultural myths persist, telling women and girls otherwise. Made known for her roles as Willow in Reverse: 1999 and Aster in Tower of Fantasy, versatile actor and producer Madeleine Dee aims to change that narrative. She has launched a new audio and video podcast called Sharing Scores, focusing on the women who have shaped video game history and those driving the industry forward today.
In partnership with the UK organization Women in Games, where Dee serves as an ambassador and content creator, the campaign encourages community participation via Kickstarter. It’s envisioned as a joyous celebration of women’s contributions in gaming, fostering validation and community spirit.
The Vision Behind Sharing Scores
Despite the growing and diverse audience of gamers, many women and girls still contend with stereotypes claiming gaming is solely for boys. Dee, recalling her own experiences of skepticism and watching friends hide their gaming habits, created Sharing Scores to obliterate these barriers. The podcast promises to dive deep into guests’ current projects and the games they cherish, all while cultivating an inclusive space for women and girls.
Notable Guests and Goals
The show boasts an exciting lineup of confirmed guests, including gaming icon Felicia Day, acclaimed voice actor Tara Platt, industry veteran Julia Bianco Schoeffling, creator Aiden Dawn, and graphical adventure pioneer Roberta Williams.
Dee’s initial Kickstarter goal merely covers equipment and platform fees, but achieving 100% funding within the first two days is crucial for visibility. Higher funding will allow for a 20-episode first season and enhancements like hiring professional editors and graphic designers, with hopes to premiere in early 2027.
You can back the campaign here on Kickstarter and follow the journey on social media platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Discord, and Twitch @SharingScoresPodcast.
