Lollypop Farm in Perinton, N.Y., is reducing adoption fees for nearly two weeks as part of the nationwide “Empty the Shelters” event, running from September 18 to 30. In partnership with the BISSELL Pet Foundation, the event offers reduced fees: dogs aged 7 months to 6 years can be adopted for $70, while cats from the same age group will cost $50. Adoption fees are waived for pets aged 6 and older; however, puppies and kittens under 7 months are excluded from this promotion.
Currently caring for over 400 animals, Lollypop Farm anticipates more pets needing help soon. Vicky Pape, the director of animal placement, emphasized the importance of this initiative in creating space for more animals in need. All available pets are vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and microchipped.
Adoption appointments are required Friday through Monday and can be scheduled each Wednesday via Lollypop’s website. Additionally, Lollypop Farm offers a fostering program, supplying families with the necessary care and support.
