Tropical Weather Update
Location: Orlando, Fla.
An area of disturbed weather in the Atlantic, designated as Invest 98L, is no longer expected to develop into a tropical system. Initially given a 40% chance of development, the National Hurricane Center has noted that the associated showers and thunderstorms remain disorganized, making further development unlikely.
Current Status:
- Location: A few hundred miles east of Bermuda.
- Movement: Expected to drift westward over the subtropical Atlantic.
In addition to Invest 98L fading from the tropical outlook, forecasters are monitoring another area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms with a 30% chance of development in the upcoming week. This new system is not anticipated to pose a threat to the U.S. and is expected to drift eastward, focusing any potential development near the Azores.
As of now, there are no active tropical cyclones in the Atlantic. The hurricane season continues until Nov. 30, and forecasters will maintain vigilance for additional developments.
