The University of Wisconsin Superior (UWS) has received a generous $260,000 donation from Cenovus Energy’s Superior Refinery, announced on September 17th. The funds will support six distinct programs, including:
- Cenovus Women in Leadership Fund
- Cenovus Energy Scholarship Fund
- Superior Youth Leadership Program Fund
- Cenovus Networking and Etiquette Dinner Fund
- Lake Superior Research Institute Sadie Ann Fellowship Fund
- UW-Superior Alumni & Friends Foundation Superior Fund
Interim Provost Nick Danz highlighted how this funding will alleviate financial burdens for students and enhance opportunities, particularly in leadership and hands-on research experiences aboard the new research vessel, Sadie Ann. UWS and the refinery have been partnering since 2023.
