New Penfield Veterinary Clinic Seeks to Address Emergency Care Needs

New Veterinary Clinic Opening in Penfield, NY

Penfield, N.Y. (WHAM) — A new veterinary clinic, PetVet365, is set to open on September 23 on Penfield Road. This clinic will offer a combination of general practice as well as urgent and emergency care services, addressing the increasing demand for veterinary services in Monroe County.

Veterinarians and co-owners Dr. Hannah Kinsella and Dr. Jessica Demers explained that while PetVet365 won’t function as a full emergency hospital, it will provide care for some emergency cases and certain surgeries. They highlighted that the clinic aims to fill the gaps left by existing services in the area.

Operating Hours:

  • Weekdays: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Weekends: 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.

While the clinic can handle urgent cases (like foreign body removals or bladder stone surgeries), those requiring 24-hour care will need to be stabilized at PetVet365 before being referred to a full emergency facility. Currently, Monroe County has only one 24/7 emergency veterinary clinic, which sometimes has to turn away pets due to high demand.

Key Features of PetVet365:

  • Focus on fear-free practices to reduce anxiety in pets during visits.
  • Emphasis on emotional health and understanding animal body language.

Pet owners are encouraged to call ahead once the clinic opens. For further information on emergency and urgent care options in the Rochester area, visit here.
