Allegations Against Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton High School Superintendent
DILWORTH, Minn. (KFGO) – At a recent school board meeting, former Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton High School teacher Jodeen Roberts publicly called for an evaluation of Superintendent Shannon Hunstad. Her call to action follows serious allegations surrounding a toxic work environment and issues with student misconduct.
Roberts highlighted a concerning trend during her speech, noting that over the past six years, 14 female educators have either resigned or been dismissed. She accused the administration of consistently failing to uphold standards outlined in the student handbook, citing instances of ignored discipline reports and an alarming incident where students made Nazi salutes in class.
“Do you really feel that our current superintendent has made his decisions, or lack of decisions, based on what is best for DGF students?” Roberts questioned, expressing her belief that the students, parents, and staff deserve better.
However, school board members and Superintendent Hunstad did not respond directly to Roberts’ accusations during the meeting. Later, Hunstad directed media inquiries to a written statement available on the district website. In this statement, district leadership acknowledged that not every individual’s experience has been positive, promising to listen to concerns and treat people with respect.
Hunstad mentioned that Minnesota data privacy laws prevent district officials from discussing individual personnel decisions or student disciplinary records. He reiterated that the district’s lack of response should not imply the validity of the allegations or that concerns were neglected.
According to the statement, that was to be the district’s final comment on the matter.
