Zelenskyy questions Russia’s commitment to the energy truce proposed by Trump.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed skepticism regarding Russia’s commitment to any agreements following US President Donald Trump’s announcement of a mutual non-strike deal on energy assets. In a post on X, Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine is willing to halt strikes against Russia if “our partners” can ensure that Moscow genuinely refrains from attacking critical infrastructure and food supply routes.

Zelenskyy emphasized the need for a reliable and long-term agreement that actually impacts people’s lives, highlighting concerns that any cessation of attacks could quickly dissolve after Russia’s upcoming elections. He accused Moscow of systematically targeting essential infrastructure, including energy facilities and food storage, which are vital for daily life in Ukraine.

Zelenskyy stressed the importance of bringing the war to an end and suggested that steps to de-escalate attacks on critical infrastructure could pave the way for peace. He called for clear commitments from international partners to secure a meaningful agreement with Russia.
