Trump states that Ukraine and Russia have reached an agreement to avoid targeting energy infrastructure.

U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Ukraine and Russia have agreed to cease attacks on each other’s energy infrastructure. In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated, “Ukraine has agreed not to hit Russian Energy targets. Russia has agreed to do, likewise!” He attributed rising diesel prices globally primarily to the ongoing conflict between the two nations.

Despite Trump’s claims, neither Ukraine nor Russia has confirmed this agreement. Trump had previously urged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to avoid targeting diesel fuel in Russia, suggesting that such actions contribute to a diesel shortage.

Moscow welcomed Trump’s remarks, but Ukraine maintains that energy sites are legitimate military targets in its defense against Russian aggression that began over four years ago. Zelenskyy has highlighted that Russian oil revenues fund the war efforts against Ukraine.

In related news, the average U.S. diesel price has reached $6 per gallon, marking a significant increase amid ongoing conflicts, including a recent drone attack on Saudi Arabia’s East-West oil pipeline, which had previously served as a crucial route for oil transportation.
