Resilience and Eli Lilly are significantly expanding their partnership with a $750 million investment to boost the production of Lilly’s KwikPen injectable device at Resilience’s facility in the Cincinnati area. This initiative aims to create 400 high-skilled jobs and is expected to be fully operational by early 2027.
Since their collaboration began in 2023, the two companies have already produced over 150 million doses of Lilly medications for the U.S. market. This expansion comes in response to the growing demand for diabetes and obesity treatments, strengthening the supply of domestically manufactured medicines.
### Focused Investment in Ohio Manufacturing
The investment will enhance manufacturing capabilities, marking the introduction of Lilly’s KwikPen production into Resilience’s portfolio. Resilience currently employs about 1,000 people in Ohio, and this expansion will further solidify its presence in the region.
William S. Marth, President and CEO of Resilience, expressed a strong commitment to establishing one of the largest sterile injectable and device assembly operations in the U.S. With a focus on quality and reliability, the partnership aims to meet the increasing demand for complex manufacturing programs.
### Strategic Partnership and Regional Growth
Ohio is emerging as a leader in biomanufacturing, with Governor Mike DeWine recognizing the significance of Resilience’s expansion and its contribution to the state’s life sciences sector. Collaborations with organizations like JobsOhio and REDI Cincinnati are critical in building a skilled workforce in the region.
J.P. Nauseef, President and CEO of JobsOhio, stated that statewide investments in biomanufacturing training are preparing Ohioans for careers in this growing sector.
As Resilience continues to grow, its strategic partnership with Lilly exemplifies how collaborative efforts can enhance both organizations’ capabilities and strengthen the U.S. medicine supply chain, positioning them as key players in the global pharmaceutical landscape.
