Celebrity 5&10 Temporary Cash Register
Disney’s Hollywood Studios has introduced a new temporary cash register at Celebrity 5&10 and The Darkroom. This setup could potentially evolve into a mobile checkout station in the future.
Previously, there was a permanent register at this location, which has since been removed. Recent renovations included new flooring and the installation of an outlet cover in the area where the old register was located. It appears that a permanent register may not return, but a temporary podium has been set up instead.
The podium features a white design with gold trim and is operated by a Cast Member equipped with just a scanner and tablet rather than a full register.
This setup resembles the current mobile checkout stations available at other Disney locations, like Mickey’s of Hollywood, as seen in the image below.
Currently, it serves as a standard register, but the introduction of this podium suggests that mobile checkout may soon be available at Celebrity 5&10 and/or The Darkroom.
Celebrity 5&10 specializes in home goods, while The Darkroom, which is adjacent, focuses on selling pins.
