Event Summary: Pet Day in the Park
On Saturday, Wallace’s Clement Park hosted a vibrant Pet Day in the Park organized by Pet Friends of Duplin County, drawing in a lively crowd of pet owners and their furry companions despite the hot and humid weather. Attendees enjoyed numerous activities aimed at both pets and children, including water stations and a pup cup station to keep the dogs cool.
Activities for kids featured arts and crafts, a bubble machine, face painting, and a bounce house, ensuring fun for the whole family. Additionally, Fresh Start Reptile Rescue brought along reptiles for attendees to see, while Duplin County Animal Services offered free rabies vaccinations.
Ariel Hahn from Open Arrow A Horses & Dogs provided valuable mini-training sessions for dogs, helping owners tackle common behavioral issues. Dogs who successfully completed these sessions received certificates of good manners.
Agape Farms brought baby goats for children to pet and feed, adding to the day’s excitement.
Pet Friends of Duplin County annually hosts this event as part of their efforts to support spay and neuter surgeries, low-cost rabies clinics, a pet food pantry, and the rescue of animals in need.
