Palm Beach Hispanic Bar Launches ‘Taste the Culture’ Celebration

The Palm Beach County Hispanic Bar Association (PBCHBA) is kicking off Hispanic Heritage Month with its inaugural event, Taste the Culture: A Culinary Celebration of Hispanic & Latino Cultures. This exciting event will feature 11 local restaurants, showcasing the diverse foods, traditions, and cultures of Latin America and the Caribbean.

Event Details

  • When: 5 p.m. today
  • Where: Lake Pavilion, Downtown West Palm Beach

Open to All

While organized by a Hispanic bar association, Taste the Culture is not limited to lawyers. It welcomes business owners, professionals, community leaders, and all members of the Palm Beach County community to come together and celebrate.

Embracing Diversity

Created by Angie Pagán, PBCHBA president, the event emphasizes the diversity within the Hispanic and Latino community. Pagán explains, “There is no single Hispanic or Latino culture,” highlighting the importance of celebrating each culture’s unique stories.

Guests will enjoy a culinary journey, moving from table to table to experience different cuisines and traditions, representing various Latin American and Caribbean nations.

For board member Sonia Muñoz Gallagher, the event is about showcasing local Hispanic and Latino business owners who contribute significantly to the community. She notes that 36.9% of businesses in Florida are owned by Hispanics, emphasizing the hard work and dedication behind these statistics.

Cultural Legacy

Muñoz Gallagher connects the event’s cultural significance with the entrepreneurial spirit, stating that many Latino families view business ownership as a legacy of hard work and opportunity for future generations.

The event aims to highlight the unique identities within the community while fostering a deeper understanding of the diverse backgrounds of those involved.

Continuing the Legacy

As Hispanic Heritage Month runs from September 15 to October 15, the PBCHBA hopes attendees will continue to support local restaurants and entrepreneurs well beyond the event. Pagán expresses her desire for the celebration to foster lasting connections, urging guests to explore new dishes, learn about different cultures, and discover local gems they may wish to revisit.

Join the PBCHBA in celebrating the rich tapestry of Hispanic and Latino cultures and savor the flavors that make our community vibrant and unique!
