In July, Arizonans placed approximately $599.5 million in bets on sports and events, marking a 29.3% increase compared to July 2025, according to the Arizona Department of Gaming. They collected about $4.9 million in privilege fees from event wagering during this month.
For fiscal year 2027, event wagering and fantasy sports generated around $8.1 million in fees, with the majority, $7.9 million, coming from event wagering. Despite the significant wagers made in July, it was noted that this figure represents the lowest amount wagered since the start of the year.
Arizona law allows for up to 20 event wagering licenses, with 10 reserved for state tribes. Currently, there are 15 licensees, though three have not yet begun operations.
