Free Vaccination Clinic in Savannah
SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Despite the steamy temperatures, animal lovers flocked to Renegade Paws Rescue’s free vaccination clinic in Savannah this Sunday. The Savannah Police Department’s Impact Program co-hosted the event, attracting hundreds of dog and cat owners seeking wellness exams, rabies vaccinations, diagnostic tests, microchips, pet supplies, and more.
Jennifer Taylor, founder and director of Renegade Paws Rescue, emphasized that such clinics are crucial for helping pets stay with their families, addressing South Georgia’s animal overpopulation issue.
Mary Britton, the events coordinator, praised the contributions of volunteers and partner organizations. “We partnered with VECCS, the Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Society, who donated their time and skills during their conference in Savannah. It ensures many pets can remain happy and healthy,” she stated.
Mark Coindreau, marketing manager for IVECCS, expressed the organization’s commitment to community impact through their charitable branch, VECCS Gives, emphasizing the innate desire of veterinarians to help animals.
Marissa Asplen from Renegade Paws added, “We love our community, and all pets deserve medical care, so we’re here to make sure they have access to it.”
Additionally, organizations like Second Harvest of the Coastal Empire and the United Way were present to assist families with essential resources.
