A vehicle accidentally drove off the third level of The Coeur d’Alene Resort parking garage on Friday afternoon, but fortunately, no serious injuries were reported. Emergency responders, including police, fire personnel, and a tow truck crew, promptly arrived at the scene between the resort’s shops and the garage.
Two occupants were inside the vehicle when it plowed through the railing, falling three levels and landing on its roof. The impact crushed the car’s roof, but both occupants were taken to Kootenai Health for evaluation and reported only minor injuries—surprisingly light given the extent of the damage.
The vehicle caused some damage to the garage’s ductwork, though initial assessments suggested the main ventilation equipment remained intact. Authorities cordoned off the affected area while crews worked to remove the car and clear debris, including a downed tree. The deputy fire marshal noted efforts to ensure the site’s safety until repairs can be made.
