About “A Boy Called Hero”

The novel features 12-year-old Hero Del Rosario, who finds himself in a time travel adventure to 1892, during Spanish colonial rule in the Philippines. Left with his grandfather while the rest of his family travels to the U.S., Hero encounters his great-great-grandfather, Teo, and his twin sister, Olivia, who are secretly distributing a banned book in support of Philippine independence.

Kirkus Reviews praised it as “an exciting adventure that explores what it means to be a hero.”
