Arabian Travel Market (ATM) Opens in Dubai Amid Challenges
The Arabian Travel Market (ATM) opened today in Dubai after navigating difficult circumstances, including two rescheduling events due to the Gulf conflict’s impact on air travel and tourism. This year marks the 33rd edition of the leading travel trade show, taking place from September 14–17 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, with hopes of restoring confidence and clarifying the future of regional tourism.
Despite ongoing disruptions, the ATM event showcases the resilience of destinations, tourism authorities, airlines, and travel professionals eager to rebuild relationships and explore new opportunities. The 2026 theme, “Travel 2040: Driving New Frontiers Through Innovation and Technology,” focuses on AI, digital transformation, and sustainable growth.
A significant addition this year is the debut of ATM Travel Tech, featuring over 180 exhibitors from 30 countries and a Tech & Innovation Hub that highlights advancements in AI, VR/AR, and green technologies. Notable discussions include the opening session by Dr. Marwan Alzarouni, CEO of AI at the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, on how AI is reshaping travel.
The Global Stage features a Ministerial Debate focusing on collaboration to enhance traveler confidence and strengthen the GCC’s global tourism standing. Conversations involve significant figures such as UAE Minister H.E. Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri and other key international tourism experts.
Additionally, ATM unveils a refreshed brand identity, marking its evolution into a comprehensive platform connecting the global travel industry. With the ongoing Gulf conflict in mind, ATM 2026 aims to demonstrate the resilience of the Middle East tourism sector and provide insight into its recovery trajectory.
