Sioux City Hosts 24th Annual Pets on Parade

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — A delightful day of fun and goodwill unfolded at Riverside Park as pets, people, and new surprises came together for the 24th Annual Pets on Parade, benefiting the Siouxland Humane Society.

This event, a heartwarming fundraiser aimed at supporting the humane society’s mission of aiding homeless pets, attracted numerous pet lovers. Attendees enjoyed a variety of activities, including exploring vendor booths, engaging in a charity walk, and participating in entertaining pet contests such as the Mutt Walk, the Fastest Sit, and the Best Kisser.

This year, a new feature called “pet zones” was introduced, which proved to be a major hit with guests. According to Maddy Provost, Director of Development at the Siouxland Humane Society, the additions included fun activities like bobbing for hot dogs and creating clay pawprints. She noted that many attendees found these new features to be a highlight of the event.

Originally created in 2003, the Sioux City Pets on Parade aims to foster community connections while supporting homeless pets through fundraising efforts.
