Nine members of the “Krooks” gang are now prohibited from entering downtown Nashville, as announced by the Metro Nashville Police Department. A Davidson County judge granted an injunction against these individuals, who are accused of targeting intoxicated individuals and tourists, tricking them into transferring money through mobile payment apps under misleading pretenses. The incidents have frequently escalated into violence when victims realize they are being deceived.
The gang members listed include:
– Demontaz D. Jones, 21
– Jamontez Alondo Gordon, 22
– Kesean Rondell Johnson, 20
– Treshawn Jones, 18
– Deniyah Gordon, 18
– Ricky Dewayne Crawley Jr., 19
– Brendan Howard, 24
– Makeel Horton, 20
– An unidentified 16-year-old
These nine individuals are banned from a designated “safety zone” spanning from Union Street to Korean Veterans Blvd., and from the Cumberland River to Rosa L. Parks Blvd. Five of them have already appeared in court and accepted the terms of the injunction, while the other four are awaiting hearings.
This action aims to enhance safety and reduce criminal activity in the busy entertainment district.
