Power Outage Updates
UPDATE 8:30 p.m.:
- The power outage in Hampton has been reduced to 660 customers. The cause has been identified as a tree on a power line, as reported by the Dominion Energy outage map.
- The Newport News outage has mostly been resolved.
UPDATE 7:30 p.m.:
- The Newport News outage is now affecting only a handful of customers.
Earlier:
- Over 2,000 residents in the Peninsula were without power, with Dominion Energy investigating the cause.
In Hampton, approximately 1,600 customers remain without power in the Northampton area, affecting parts of Todds Lane and Big Bethel Road, with no estimated time for restoration.
Around 7:15 p.m., more than 500 customers in Newport News were reported to be without power in the Burkdale area, down from over 1,300 earlier. Restoration is estimated to occur between 8 to 11 p.m. Both incidents are still under investigation.
