The People for Pets Magic Valley Humane Society recently celebrated its 15th annual Pooch Splash at Dierkes Lake, a unique fundraising event that allows dogs to enjoy the water off-leash for a single day each year. The event features vendors offering pet treats and food, along with a raffle where attendees can win special pet packages. The proceeds from the event support the medical fund for homeless animals at the shelter.
Debbie Blackwood, the director of People for Pets, expressed the joy and positive energy that fills the event, noting its significant impact on both dogs and their owners. The Pooch Splash not only provides fun but also promotes dogs’ psychological well-being by allowing them to run and play freely. Mark your calendars for next year’s event, scheduled for the second Saturday in September!
